ABOUT THE BOOK

Very few people, especially teenagers and young adults, understand what it takes to DEFEND THE DREAM that God has placed on their hearts.  They think the path to their dreams will be easy and that it won't be filled with hardships and lessons along the way.  I wrote my debut book, DEFEND THE DREAM, to prepare young people to face the inevitable challenges that will come their way on the journey to their dream so they may fulfill their greatest potential.    

The 20 Lessons included in this book, or Plays as I like to call them, are based on my very own personal dream to play in the NBA.  From the time I was seven years old and had my dream to play professional ball, I faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles including poverty, neglect, naysayers, self-doubt, set backs, rejection and so much more.  Each Play in this book reveals how, with God's help, I overcame that adversity and miraculously fulfilled my dream using six pillars: Endurance, Passion, Humility, Discipline, Faith and Determination.

DEFEND THE DREAM is a must read for those who need a little help or encouragement in the journey to their purpose.  It applies to all dreams, big or small, and INCLUDES A WORKBOOK for deep reflection that prompts the reader to apply each Play in real time!
